Consent & Information Sharing

Legal

How Hope Connect Australia seeks consent before sharing information with other services on your behalf.

Seeking your consent

Before we share your personal information with another service or organisation — for example, as part of a referral, advocacy or appointment support — we will seek your consent and explain what information will be shared and with whom.

You are in control

You can choose what information is shared, ask questions about why it's needed, and withdraw your consent at any time. Declining to share certain information will not stop you from receiving support from Hope Connect Australia, though it may affect what other services can offer.

Limited exceptions

In rare circumstances, we may need to share information without consent — for example, where there is a serious and imminent risk to someone's life, health or safety, or where we are required to do so by law.

Working with other services

Where advocacy or appointment support is provided, we will only communicate with other services about your circumstances to the extent you have agreed to.
